Content Platforms & Operations is responsible forthe development and ongoing advancement of the technical and operational functions driving the worldwide distribution and monetization of Disney’s linear networks and theatrical content. This includes Disney’s media supply chain and storage, network and theatrical distribution operations, media localization, networktransmissionand origination, and more. The global team also plays a critical role as the primary collaboration point for Product & Technology with Disney’s EMEA, APAC, and LATAM regional business teams.

How will you contribute to our magical experience?

We areseekinga highly skilled Senior Java Software Engineer to join our Content Platform Engineering team, focusing onbuildingand enhancing platform capabilities with a strong emphasis on computer vision andmachine learning (ML ) workflows. Our team develops and manages a diverse suite of products and services that power Disney’s media supply chain, enabling content delivery for iconic brands like Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu, ABC, Marvel, and Star Wars.

In this role, you will design and implement scalable systems, data pipelines, and platform services that deliver automated inspection, validation, and enrichment of media assets. You willbe responsible forbuilding end-to-end media inspection pipelines thatleveragecomputer vision to streamline content analysis andinspection. Leveraging modern software engineering practices and cloud infrastructure, you will build robust, extensible platforms that enable intelligent content operations at scale.

The Senior, Java Software Engineer will be responsible for:

• Write and Maintain Software Solutions : Design, write, test, and deploy high-quality code to develop reliable, maintainable software solutions.
• Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams : Work closely with platform engineers, product teams, and data scientists to ensure technical solutions effectively support business goals and content strategies.
• Production Support :Monitorandoptimizeproduction systems, ensuring platform stability, performance, and uptime.
• Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous learning.

What we need from you to be part of this story:

• 4+ years of software engineering experience, with significant expertise in Java.
• Advanced English level.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, microservices, and scalable backend systems.
• Experience designing and developing REST and/or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience building cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Solid understanding of CI/CD, testing strategies, and software engineering best practices.
• Experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures (Kafka, SNS, SQS).
• Strong problem-solving skills, ownership mindset, and ability to collaborate across cross-functional teams.
• Experience with Python, media technology, computer vision, or machine learning is a plus.
