About the Role

As an Email / Lifecycle Marketing Specialist, you will own hands-on execution across email, SMS, segmentation, retention, deliverability, and reporting. You will personally build and maintain Klaviyo campaigns, automations, and lifecycle flows while managing the connection between Klaviyo and Recharge.

This is an individual contributor role for someone who enjoys being close to the work. You will be expected to understand the strategy behind each campaign, but you will also be the person building, testing, troubleshooting, launching, and optimizing it.

Because the business operates on a subscription model, your work will directly influence churn reduction, repeat purchases, upgrades, winbacks, and customer lifetime value.

Working hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM EST.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the Klaviyo flow architecture across acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention, winback, and other key lifecycle stages.
• Build, test, schedule, and launch email campaigns independently while maintaining an accurate campaign calendar.
• Develop customer segments that enable more relevant messaging, stronger personalization, and better lifecycle performance.
• Build and execute SMS campaigns and automations as part of an integrated email and retention strategy.
• Own retention initiatives including churn-save programs, winback campaigns, upgrade offers, subscription messaging, and other customer lifecycle experiments.
• Manage and troubleshoot the Klaviyo and Recharge integration to ensure subscription and customer data flows accurately between platforms.
• Monitor email deliverability, list health, sender performance, and engagement signals, and resolve issues before they negatively affect results.
• Analyze lifecycle performance and translate campaign, flow, and customer data into clear reporting and actionable recommendations.
• Design and run thoughtful tests across messaging, offers, segmentation, timing, and lifecycle journeys, explaining the rationale behind each test.
• Troubleshoot execution issues independently using platform documentation, support resources, and AI tools before escalating routine problems.

Requirements

Must-Have:

• 3-6+ years of experience in lifecycle, retention, CRM, or email marketing, with flexibility on exact seniority for candidates with strong hands-on experience.
• Deep, hands-on Klaviyo experience, including personally building campaigns, automations, flows, segments, and reporting.
• DTC or e-commerce lifecycle marketing experience.
• Experience designing and maintaining lifecycle flow architecture rather than only managing or reviewing other people's work.
• Hands-on experience with customer segmentation, SMS marketing, email deliverability, and list health.
• Experience executing retention programs such as churn-save initiatives, winbacks, subscription offers, upgrades, or similar lifecycle campaigns.
• Ability to work independently, troubleshoot problems, follow detailed instructions accurately, and take ownership through completion.
• Hands-on knowledge of the Klaviyo + Recharge integration and subscription data flows.

Nice to Have:

• Strong experience with subscription-based e-commerce businesses.
• Experience creating email assets in Canva, Photoshop, or AI-powered creative tools.
• Experience developing lifecycle strategy and explaining the reasoning behind campaign, segmentation, testing, and automation decisions.
• Familiarity with using AI tools to accelerate creative production, analysis, research, and troubleshooting.
