Sr. Manual QA Engineer (Data‑Focused)

Role Summary The Sr. Manual QA Engineer will focus on data validation, test coverage accuracy, and quality assurance across data-centric workflows within the client's application ecosystem.Responsibilities

• Perform manual testing of application features, workflows, and data flows to identify defects and inconsistencies.
• Develop and execute test cases aligned with User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
• Validate data accuracy using SQL, ensuring correct transformations, mappings, and end-to-end data integrity.
• Document defects in ADO and retest fixes to confirm resolution.
• Conduct regression testing to validate existing functionality and data pipelines.
• Create and maintain test documentation, including test plans, scripts, and results.
• Quickly learn business processes, data structures, and application functionality.
• Identify and test edge cases, data anomalies, and boundary conditions.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and communicate proactively with stakeholders.
• Contribute ideas to improve testing processes, data validation practices, and test coverage.Qualifications
• 5+ years of experience as a Manual QA Tester or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of software testing methodologies and QA best practices.

• Develop and execute test cases and test scripts aligned to User Stories and Acceptance Criteria.
• Validate data accuracy using SQL queries, ensuring correct transformations, mappings, and end to end data integrity.
• Document defects clearly in ADO and retest fixes to confirm resolution.
• Collaborate closely with developers, BAs, and product owners to clarify requirements and ensure alignment on expected data behavior.
• Conduct regression testing to confirm new changes do not impact existing functionality or data pipelines.
• Create and maintain test documentation (test plans, test scripts, test results).
• Ramp up quickly on business domain knowledge and data structures used within the application.
• Provide input to improve testing processes, especially around data validation, test coverage, and edge case identification.
• Identify and test edge cases, including data anomalies, boundary conditions, and scenarios not explicitly captured in acceptance criteria.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups).
• Communicate proactively with stakeholders to clarify requirements, validate assumptions, and ensure test cases align with business and data expectations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Manual QA Tester or similar role.
• Strong understanding of software testing methodologies and QA best practices.
• Proficiency in SQL, with ability to write, execute, and interpret queries for data validation.
• Solid analytical and problem solving skills with strong attention to detail, especially in data driven scenarios.
• Ability to quickly learn new applications, data models, and business processes.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with ADO Test Plans and defect tracking systems.
