Senior Python Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Python Developer based in Argentina.

Join an exciting remote development project focused on building a next-generation mobile application for a professional football team. As a Senior Python Developer, you will contribute to creating innovative digital experiences that strengthen fan engagement, enhance monetization opportunities, and connect supporters with the team both inside and outside the stadium. You will design and develop robust backend services, integrate AI-powered capabilities, and build scalable APIs to support seamless mobile interactions. Working with modern technologies and cloud infrastructure, you will help shape a high-performance, secure, and reliable platform. This role offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on a digital product in the sports and technology space. You will collaborate with an international team in a remote-first environment, with occasional opportunities to meet in person.

Accountabilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using Python and frameworks such as FastAPI or Flask.

• Build and integrate RESTful APIs to support mobile application features, fan engagement functionalities, and digital service delivery.

• Implement AI-powered features by integrating services and models from providers such as OpenAI, Hugging Face, or similar platforms.

• Develop efficient asynchronous data flows and ensure reliable communication between application components and external services.

• Design, optimize, and maintain SQL and NoSQL databases to support performance, scalability, and data integrity.

• Implement secure authentication and authorization mechanisms, including OAuth2 and JWT, while following data privacy best practices.

• Containerize applications using Docker and support cloud deployment, preferably on Microsoft Azure.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline development, deployment automation, testing, and continuous improvement of development workflows.

• Collaborate with cross-functional team members to deliver reliable, user-focused solutions aligned with project objectives.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in Python development, ideally in building production-ready backend systems and scalable applications.

• Strong knowledge of FastAPI or Flask and experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.

• Practical experience integrating AI and machine learning services through APIs, including OpenAI, Hugging Face, or comparable solutions.

• Solid understanding of asynchronous programming, JSON-based data exchange, and efficient data processing.

• Experience designing and working with relational and/or non-relational databases, including SQL and NoSQL technologies.

• Hands-on experience with Docker, cloud deployment, and CI/CD pipelines; familiarity with Microsoft Azure is a strong advantage.

• Good understanding of application security, authentication protocols, authorization, and data protection practices.

• Familiarity with Node.js is an advantage but not essential.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a remote team.

• Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the flexibility to coordinate across working hours and contribute to an international development environment.

• Willingness to complete a HackerRank technical assessment as part of the recruitment process.

Benefits:

• Remote-first flexibility: Work remotely from Slovenia, with occasional in-person team sessions, workshops, or gatherings expected approximately once per quarter, likely in Prague.

• Flexible working hours: Expected collaboration overlap is approximately 9:00–10:00 and 18:00–19:00 CET, with flexibility for a wider overlap appreciated.

• Innovative project: Contribute to a high-impact mobile application designed to transform the football fan experience through technology and AI.

• Modern technology stack: Work with Python, API integrations, AI/ML services, Docker, and cloud infrastructure.

• International collaboration: Work with a distributed team in a collaborative environment focused on delivering a sophisticated digital product.

• Expected start date: As soon as possible.

• Technical assessment: A HackerRank challenge is part of the selection process.
