Learning Instructional Design Reviewer
The opportunity
Our Learning Instructional Design Reviewer will be responsible for detailed review of a portfolio of learning projects and programs to ensure NASBA requirements are met and courses can award US CPE.

As a Learning Instructional Design Reviewer, you will work with internal content design and development teams both in the US and Global. You will conduct detailed compliance reviews of required course materials, such as slide decks, facilitation notes, participant guides, handouts, storyboards, and scripts. In addition, you will verify the accuracy of required documentation. You will confirm the NASBA checklist requirements and content maps have been completed accurately and fully. If changes are required for the course to be NASBA-compliant, you will provide detailed written feedback to the content design and development teams and may provide verbal feedback as needed. 
Skills and Attributes for Success
You will need experience developing regulated learning using instructional design.  You will also have strong networking skills and the ability to cultivate and maintain internal and external business relationships with individuals in your own function, as well as others.  In addition, you will champion knowledge-sharing behaviors, connect people, and serve as an ambassador for CPE-accredited learning. 
To qualify for this role, you must have:
•    1 to 2 years of experience developing regulated learning (NASBA compliant preferred), including detailed design documentation
•    Experience completing quality assurance reviews as it relates to compliance
•    Determine what changes, if any, are needed to the course content and provide guidance back to the stakeholders that is easy to understand to achieve desired outcome 
•    Ability to take initiative and manage multiple reviews simultaneously, in a fast-paced and highly challenging environment 
•    Assess situations to determine risk mitigation and escalate to appropriate parties 
•    Ability to adapt to constantly changing work requirements while assimilating new information, analyzing it, and effectively applying it 
•    Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
•    Approximately 6 or more years of related work experience with an emphasis in learning design

Positioning the role
As a QA2 reviewer, instructional designers apply the NASBA standards when reviewing courses to ensure the courses meet NASBA’s continuing professional education (CPE) requirements. Learners at EY value CPE-compliant learning, because it enables them to maintain their professional licenses as accounting, audit and tax professionals, and it also enables them to meet the firm’s continuing education requirements as client-facing professionals. The CPE standards published by NASBA are founded in sound instructional design principles, so courses that are CPE-compliant are designed, developed and deployed in accordance with these principles. At EY, the QA1 and QA2 review process is a control put in place to ensure EY courses that award CPE credit meet the NASBA standards. This mitigates risk to the firm and our people, thus these technical reviews are critically important.
Accurate completion of QA2 reviews benefits the learners at the firm, but these reviews also benefit the QA2 reviewers in their professional development. Specifically, performing these reviews offers these benefits to learning/instructional designers:
•    Builds technical instructional design knowledge and experience: By applying the NASBA standards during QA2 reviews, reviewers gain proficiency in instructional design methodology and practice for a variety of learning delivery modalities. This knowledge and experience gained in these reviews can be directly applied to course design and development activities.
•    Develops a transferrable set of regulatory, compliance or certification skills: By applying the regulatory requirements of CPE-compliant courses during QA2 reviews, reviewers develop skills that translate to other instructional design work, either in other regulated environments that mandate continuing education to maintain licenses, to the learning component of certification programs across different industries or to other types of compliance reviews of learning content.
•    Increases exposure to a variety of courses and design techniques: The QA2 reviews expose reviewers to a much larger pool of courses than they will work on as part of course design and development projects. This enables reviewers to review the work of other learning designers, acquainting them with a variety of design choices, including innovative learning activities, that the reviewers can then include in their own creative instructional design toolkits.
