About the Role

This role is part of Finance Operations (within the Tax Service Line), providing clients with immediate access to a complete finance function, delivering end-to-end services from transaction processing and accounting to monthly reporting, statutory compliance, and tax activities.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Bookkeeper to oversee and execute accounting operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial information. The successful candidate will manage complex accounting activities, support team members, drive process improvements, coordinate transitions and system migrations, and serve as a key point of contact for clients and global stakeholders.

This role is expected to act as the first level of review and coordination for day-to-day Finance Operate activities performed in Buenos Aires for a US client.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate daily accounting activities performed by the GDS Buenos Aires team, reporting to the Manager.
• Lead bookkeeping activities for clients, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and General Ledger processes.
• Oversee activities performed by Senior and Staff team members, including:
  • Manual Journal Entries (JEs)
  • Monthly Flash Reports
  • Financial Result Summaries
  • CFO Deep Dive inputs
  • Close Management
• Review and perform bank reconciliations, investigate discrepancies, and resolve complex accounting issues.
• Prepare and review monthly tax account reconciliations.
• Coordinate and execute monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities, ensuring compliance with deadlines.
• Analyze financial information, reconcile balance sheet accounts, and identify unusual fluctuations or risks.
• Prepare KPI and management reports and support variance analysis.
• Coach and support junior team members through technical guidance and quality reviews.
• Become a trusted advisor and key contact for client stakeholders during transition and post go-live.
• Lead by example in client communication and team behaviors.
• Collaborate with GDS India and the ACR US onshore team to ensure consistency across locations.
• Monitor KPIs, SLAs, and other client-defined operational metrics.
• Participate in and lead transition activities for new engagements and process transfers.
• Support accounting and ERP migration projects, including testing, validation, and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Build strong relationships with clients, finance teams, and accounting partners.
• Coordinate activities with foreign offices and global teams.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, automation, and standardization.

About the Profile

The ideal candidate should have 5+ years of experience , including experience in controllership within a shared services environment.

1. Finance Domain Knowledge

• Strong controllership and finance background.
• Good understanding of finance operations processes such as R2R, B2P, and O2C.
• Experience working in Shared Services environments (captive or outsourced).

2. Project / Transition Knowledge

• Experience leading or supporting F&A transitions with accountability for timelines and costs.
• Participation in or leadership of ERP or other technology implementation projects.
• Understanding of project lifecycle phases and transition methodologies.
• Strong communication skills, with the confidence and integrity to communicate clearly and concisely.
• Ability to collaborate across multiple time zones, cultures, and teams.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess risks, solve problems, and connect information quickly.
• Ability to deliver high-quality materials to stakeholders.
